About EcoBalance Solutions

EcoBalance Solutions is a purpose-driven sustainability consultancy delivering net-zero strategy and implementation across both public and private sectors. Our services span retrofit and decarbonisation planning, Local Area Energy Plans (LAEPs), ESG and climate risk advisory, sustainable architecture input, carbon footprinting, and renewable energy feasibility. We work with local authorities, housing providers, commercial clients, and design teams to shape sustainable outcomes, from grant-funded delivery plans to technical carbon assessments and green building certifications.

 

As we expand, we’re seeking a talented and motivated Junior Consultant to support project delivery across multiple workstreams, including retrofit, strategy, research, and reporting.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of sustainability strategies, retrofit plans, and energy studies

  • Assist with carbon footprinting, life-cycle assessments, and ESG reporting

  • Contribute to Local Area Energy Planning and climate adaptation research

  • Support funding readiness and investment planning, including research, baselining, and drafting client-facing content

  • Prepare high-quality project materials such as slides, reports, case studies, and evidence summaries

  • Maintain internal tracking, version control, and project documentation

  • Participate in external engagement activities with councils, design teams, and clients

  • Contribute to projects incorporating circular economy principles, low-impact materials, and waste minimisation strategies as part of holistic sustainability planning

 

Essential Qualifications & Skills

  • Degree (or equivalent experience) in sustainability, environmental science, engineering, architecture, or a related field

  • Strong written communication and research skills

  • Familiarity with carbon data, emissions analysis, or sustainability frameworks

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and online collaboration tools (e.g. SharePoint, Notion, Miro)

  • Self-motivated, collaborative, and eager to contribute to impactful projects

 

Desirable Extras

  • Interest in PAS 2035/2038, BREEAM, LEED, WELL, or embodied carbon standards

  • Experience with LCA software, energy audits, or carbon footprinting tools

  • Awareness of climate policy, green construction, or ESG reporting

  • Experience working in cross-sector teams or public-private initiatives

  • Understanding of circular economy frameworks or contributions to waste minimisation, materials reuse, or embodied carbon optimisation
